Dear Parents:

I pray you are well!

You’ve spent the better part of two decades raising your son or daughter in the faith and the truth. Of course, today it’s a truism and cliché to say that many institutions of higher education are failing you and our culture. That’s not true at Ave Maria University or our Newman Guide peers.

As I’ve mentioned to you, it’s simply not good enough to spend your hard-earned dollars just to keep your child Catholic. Is that the purpose of Catholic higher education? If so, it’s a bad return. Certainly, we need to avoid evil, but the best fortification against evil is to pursue the good.

An abundance of good. That is our aim at Ave Maria University. God is the Good, so we must know Him. The indwelling of wisdom through learning is good. Leisure to build the spirit and the body, that is good (and fun). Discovering one’s calling is good. “The glory of God is man fully alive,” and that is very good.

Finally, we turn these concepts into reality at AMU: 9 daily Masses, 36 majors and an enviable Liberal Arts core, a full array of intercollegiate, club, and intramural sports, and The Institute. I don’t think any other university can offer all of that. That’s why I moved to AMU and why I’m dedicated to investing into your child’s future at AMU.
