A holistic assessment will be made based upon several factors, including—but not limited to—high school or college GPA, standardized test scores, and the academic rigor of the high school classes.

Ave Maria Athletics participates in the Sun Conference of the NAIA. As such, the University offers athletic scholarships for participation in its intercollegiate offerings. Scholarship amounts vary and are at the discretion of the head coach of the individual sport and the Director of Athletics. If an athletic scholarship is offered, it is offered as a Letter of Intent, following an applicant’s admission to the University.
Provide additional funding for first-time college students who belong to one of the Eastern Rites of the Catholic Church and have been admitted to Ave Maria University.
Practicing Eastern Rite Catholic with parish endorsement letter. First-time college freshman. Unweighted high school GPA of at least 3.2 and a standardized test score of at least 24 ACT, 1180 SAT, or 77 CLT.
Accepted students will be identified by above criteria and do not need to submit an additional application. Scholarship may not be stacked with other regional or donor-funded scholarships.
Maintain a college GPA of at least 2.5 at Ave Maria University
Ave Maria University will cover the cost of the Cardinal Kung Foundation Scholarship for sophomore through senior year if the recipient enrolls at AMU.
Students must apply to the Cardinal Kung Foundation. For more information click here. The Cardinal Kung Foundation provides the scholarship for the first year, and Ave Maria University will supplement it for three additional years.
Candidates will be selected by the Cardinal Kung Foundation. Students must email their award letter to the Financial Aid Office at amufinancialaid@avemaria.edu.
Ave Maria University will cover the cost of the Cardinal Newman Society Essay Scholarship for sophomore through senior year if the recipient enrolls at AMU.
Students must apply to the Cardinal Newman Society Scholarship. Form is available here. The Cardinal Newman Society provides the scholarship for the first year and Ave Maria University will supplement it for three additional years.
Candidates will be selected by the Cardinal Newman Society Foundation. Students must email their award letter to the Financial Aid Office at amufinancialaid@avemaria.edu.
Department scholarships are awarded to students pursuing specific major programs during their time at Ave Maria University.

Incoming first-year students identified by their achievement on the SAT/ACT/CLT exams and high school coursework (courses, programs, GPA, class rank, etc.) will be invited to apply for the Honors Program. Consideration will be given to students with a high school GPA of 3.6 or higher and an SAT score of 1350 and above, an ACT score of 29 and above, or a CLT score of 90 and above.
Recipients must be incoming first-year students. Recipients must meet the academic standards set by the Honors faculty. Recipients must submit an essay application for review by the Honors faculty.
Essays with qualifying academic credentials are reviewed by the Honors faculty to select students for admission to the program. Honors Scholarships will be awarded on a rolling basis within a month of application to the Honors Program.
Provide financial support to one rising junior Nursing Student at Ave Maria University who requires financial assistance to complete his or her last two years of their Nursing degree.

Provide financial assistance to Legatus members, their children, and grandchildren.

Ave Maria University offers scholarships for participation in its Marching Band and Color Guard. Scholarship amounts vary and are at the discretion of the Band Director and the Director of Athletics. You may be asked to submit an audition tape or audition in person. If an athletic scholarship is offered, it is offered as a Letter of Intent, following an applicant’s admission to the University.
Provide additional funding for Catholic students from the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend.
Student must be admitted to Ave Maria University. Must be a Catholic in good standing at a parish in the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend. Provide a letter of endorsement from home parish.
Maintain a GPA of at least a 2.5 while at Ave Maria University.
Provide additional funding for first-time college students who graduated from a homeschool program and have been admitted to Ave Maria University.
Homeschooled all four years of high school. Practicing Catholic with parish endorsement letter. First-time college freshman. Unweighted high school GPA of at least 3.0. For full $5,000 annual scholarship: standardized test score of at least 23 ACT, 1140 SAT, or 75 CLT.
Accepted students will be identified by above criteria and do not need to submit an additional application. Scholarship may not be stacked with Ave Maria Foundation scholarships.

Provide financial support to academically gifted students interested in studying one of the STEM majors (listed below).

Invest in the best and brightest applicants to Ave Maria University by providing tuition and fees, room and board for four years to students selected by a committee based on a variety of factors.
Recipients must be invited to and participate in the Presidential Scholarship Weekend. Recipients must be incoming first-year students. Initial requirement: a minimum unweighted high school GPA of 3.70 and a minimum 30 ACT, 1360 SAT, or 92 CLT.
Includes essay, comprehensive examination, and interview with AMU faculty member.

Provide financial support to academically gifted students who commit to participating in The Institute at Ave Maria University as a Scholar. The Institute provides its Scholars with four years of personal, professional, and cultural development driven by industry experts which complements the liberal arts tradition and is open to all majors. Scholars graduate from AMU and The Institute with the credentials, network, and experience to succeed both personally and professionally.
