All new weight equipment for our students, faculty and staff to use. |
If the Intramural and Club Sports program is not your number one athletic interest, the Athletics Department also offers Aerobics and Weight Room Facilities.
Aerobics: The Athletics Department at Ave Maria University realizes the importance of maintaining healthy personal living habits in the pursuit of a balanced life. In other words, just as it is important to work out the mind through academics, it is important to work out the body through athletics. One way to pursue this is not only by participating in intramural or club athletics, but also by taking part in our new aerobics initiative. The aerobics program offers a total body work out, concentrating on a cardiovascular, muscle toning, and an abdominal work out. The Athletic Department offers aerobics classes four times a week, consisting of two morning classes (Monday and Wednesday) and two evening classes (Tuesday and Thursday). These classes will be taught by a certified aerobics instructor.

Weight Room Facilities:
Our Department is also able to offer a full Weight Room Facility for all students, faculty and staff of Ave Maria University. The Weight Room offers numerous cardiovascular machines, along with free weights, dumbbells, and physical training on site. We are excited about this new venture and hope that the students are able to take advantage of our new location in the Ark of the Covenant Building.
Prayer to St. Sebastian
Dear Commander at the Roman Emperor’s court, you chose to be also a soldier of Christ and dared to spread faith in the King of Kings – for which you were condemned to die. Your body, however, proved athletically strong and the executing arrows extremely weak. So another means to kill you was chosen and you gave your life to the Lord. May athletes be always as strong in their faith as their Patron Saint so clearly has been. Amen.
** St. Sebastian is the Patron Saint of athletes because of his physical endurance and his energetic way of spreading and defending the faith **
