Dr. James C. Daly, Adjunct Professor of Physics, came to Ave Maria University from the University of Rhode Island where he was Professor of Electrical Engineering for forty years. At URI he was Coordinator of Computer Engineering and Acting Chairman of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department. He is interested in the design of electronic systems with an emphasis on integrated circuits. Before coming to URI he was a Member of the Technical Staff of Bell Telephone Laboratories working on optical communications. He has been a consultant to a number of corporations and government laboratories and has worked as a fiber optics engineer at The Naval Underwater Systems Center. He taught at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, The University of Limerick, and Mater Ecclesiae College. At URI he was the recipient of the Aurelio Lucci Faculty Excellence Award for Teaching and the Eta Kappa Nu Faculty Appreciation Award.
