Biography

Dr. Vall has been with Ave Maria University since the graduate programs were launched in 2004. He previously taught at Notre Dame Seminary (New Orleans) and the Franciscan University of Steubenville. Dr. Vall’s areas of expertise are Sacred Scripture and the Apostolic Fathers. He is the author of Learning Christ: Ignatius of Antioch and the Mystery of Redemption (Washington: Catholic University of America Press, 2013), and he has contributed articles to Biblica, Catholic Biblical Quarterly, Homiletic and Pastoral Review, Journal of Biblical Literature, Nova et Vetera, Seminary Journal, The Bible Today, The Thomist, and Vetus Testamentum. Dr. Vall lives in Naples with his wife Lourdes and their four children.
