Nursing (Full-Time Faculty)

Ave Maria University seeks applicants for a full-time faculty position to join a newly established B.S.N. program to begin July 1, 2015.  Qualified candidates will possess an active Florida RN license and recent experience teaching in an ASN or four-year BSN program. A Master of Science in Nursing is required; a Doctorate in Nursing is preferred.  Applicants with experience teaching Fundamentals, Health Assessment, Medical Surgical Nursing, Pathophysiology, and/or Pharmacology are preferred.

Economics, Finance, or Business

Ave Maria University seeks applicants for a full-time faculty position in Economics, Finance, or Business beginning in Fall 2015. Applicants should hold a Ph.D. and be able to teach courses in principles and intermediate economics, statistics, and/or finance; other teaching fields in business also considered. Professional experience in the field of finance is valued, as well as an interest in developing internship opportunities for students. Rank and salary are dependent on experience and credentials.

The AMU business program is new, small, and fast-growing.  We understand business as a profession, not a theoretical field, for which a robust and dynamic internship and job-placement program is crucial.  Our aim in teaching students the specific tools and concepts of the world of business is to strengthen their analytical skills.  We teach business in the context of a robust core curriculum that instills strong intellectual habits and offers a sound view of reality that helps students make good decisions.

Assistant Professor of Chemistry

The Department of Chemistry and Physics at Ave Maria University invites applications for a full-time, Assistant Professor of Chemistry position to start in the Fall of 2015.  Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Chemistry at the time of appointment.  The successful applicant will have demonstrated ability to teach introductory chemistry courses, organic chemistry and/or biochemistry as well as upper-division courses within the candidate’s area of expertise.  Individuals with experience in bioanalytical chemistry are especially encouraged to apply.  Department faculty members are expected to engage in an active research program involving undergraduate students.

Assistant Mathematics Professor

Position Title: Assistant Professor of Mathematics

Ave Maria University seeks broadly trained candidates for an assistant professor position in mathematics beginning July 1, 2015, subject to final administrative approval.

Minimum Qualifications:
A Ph.D. in mathematics, an active program of research, teaching experience, and a commitment to the University's mission to educate the whole person in light of the Catholic liberal arts tradition as expressed in the document Ex Corde Ecclesiae.

Position Description:
The primary duties of the successful applicant will be teaching mathematics courses (both in the core curriculum and the mathematics major), research, and institutional service. Exceptional candidates active in any area are encouraged to apply, although preference may be given to persons working in geometric topology, noncommutative differential geometry, operator algebras, or mathematical physics.
